Job Summary	We are currently seeking a skilled Safety and Health Officer who will be responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines at a construction site. The position will play a crucial role in promoting a safe working environment by advising on safety measures, conducting risk assessments, enforcing preventative measures, and also offering first aid to site injuries, and where necessary prescriptions for illnesses on site. The role’s primary goal is to establish a safe workplace according to acceptable standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety. The position will work in the Health and Safety Office along-side the Environmental Health and Social Officer.
Key Responsibilities	• Monitoring and assessing health and safety situations • Developing measures for the safety of site personnel • Correcting any unsafe acts or conditions • Verifying injury and illness logs • Providing first aid to injuries and illnesses • Enforcing safety guidelines • Analyzing the health hazards of a job • Monitoring health and safety of all employees • Responding to health and safety concerns • Organizing and conducting health and safety trainings
Key Requirements	• At least a Certificate in Clinical Medicine or any relevant qualification • At least 3 years of experience in a busy working environment. • Strong knowledge of the acceptable safety and health standards • Proficiency in administering first aid to injuries or illnesses • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks concurrently • Licensed by Medical Council of Malawi • Willingness to work in construction sites most of which are in the rural
