FISD Finance for Agriculture Development
In an effort to compliment and complete the ecosystem, a financial institution was introduced and established in 2014. FISD Finance for Agriculture Development (FIFAD) formerly known as FISD FUND is a wholly owned subsidiary undertaking of FISD Limited Company incorporated under the Company Act. FIFAD is a financing institution which largely focuses on agricultural financing. The institution was registered as a micro-credit agency by the registrar of financial institutions of the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM). Meanwhile FIFAD has applied for licencing to upgrade from a Microcredit Agency to Deposit Taking Microfinance Institution. The Company perceives an unfulfilled client need for agricultural loans, business opportunities and skills development to overcome poverty in Malawi. .
